buck- My kids and I were just talking about that a few nights ago: The collection of pets in our backyard in Phoenix! We've certainly seen our share of that ol circle of life! Lots of dear friends with sweet resting places and lots of love in our hearts.
anno and jen- Thanks for your sweet words. Already Andrew has requested a fish from Sinterklaas, and Emma has hit me up for a rat. Ian hasn't weighed in as yet with his next pet desires. ME, I just want a puppy. :)
Oh I can only imagine the pain and grief. The death of a pet is so hard.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a lovely last resting place for the dearly departed.
Hugs to you all.
Thanks SMID. Emma and Andrew worked hard to make the casket lovely. Now Stuart and his box rest in the back garden under the grapevine...
ReplyDeleteIs it okay to smile at the casket? Because it looks delightful. Sorry to the kids. It's never easy.
ReplyDeleteOf course it's okay to smile! I loved it too and was completely impressed by the creativity and ingenuity.
ReplyDeleteAh, kids.
Awe... And yes, I echo SMID. And what a lovely casket.
ReplyDeleteI think that was a nice project for Emma and Andrew, too.
I'm sorry for your loss.
The casket is beautiful. I think it shows the love and affection your children had for Stuart. I'm sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteThe casket is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI can remember burying beloved pets in old cigar boxes in the backyard. Fish, birds, and hamsters.
It's always hard to let them go. Big hugs to your and your family.

Awwwwww. How sad and sweet at the same time.
ReplyDeleteIt was this time two years ago we lost our dog. The kids mourn her still. (sniff, sniff)
I'm so sorry to hear about Stuart but the kids did a lovely job on his casket. It's never easy but the kids seem to recover quicker than we do.
