My husband recently went through all our old photos - some of which predated him - and couldn't believe the big poodle hair that we all had 1989 - 1991. It seems there was only 1 haircut to go round...
I used to spend hours in the morning getting ready for school. Now I can get ready in about 8 minutes, start to finish. Once I even went swimming and my poofy bangs stayed put b/c I had used so much hairspray! LOL
Those were the days! I never had big hair, but I had a sticky-uppy do that was very trendy at the time for short-haired girls. Now I have mommy hair.....Great shot!
You ARE gorgeous but you must have matured at a very young age. You had to be - what? - no older than 12 in that picture? :-) What? You're not over 30 ... are you?
I so wanted to have big hair. It is required to be considered "pretty" in Texas. And though I had the length and the summer blonde color, nothing I could do could get the volume. My Farrah Faucett haircut just looked like a poor shag. (sigh) I would have loved to have a hairdo like this!!
The story begins like this: A couple of years ago my husband got a crazy notion in his head that returning to school after years in the professional world might be a good idea. So he and I along with our three children left our suburban life in the U.S. and traded it for a new adventure in The Netherlands.
The saga continues like this:
A year of post graduate study was so much fun, we figured we'd stay a while longer. Working in a new field, attending new schools and living in a new city, I dare say we have settled into a rhythm in our expat lives.
This blog is the record I keep of our experiences here; good, bad and hilarious. Intended as an outlet for my expression, this is the place for me to say my something.

I think big hair's back in fashion ;-) You looked fab!
ReplyDeleteMy sister had hair like that. You looked great!
ReplyDeleteBig hair AND teal green... you could even be mid-80s but I think you're too young, lol.
ReplyDeleteLotsa spraynets! I wonder if this trend would return soon enough. :D. It really was cool to be donning this do (before).
ReplyDeleteIf only my hair would've looked like that back then. It just wouldn't cooperate even with the tons of hair spray I used.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I remember that era well... The bigger the hair the better, LOL! :) Happy WW!
