Oooh you came south. I hope you enjoyed our prettiest town in Belgium (entirely protected by Unesco...did you know that? Not here and there a building but the entire city center!). Did you eat a big waffle? I think it's a must to eat a big waffle in Bruges :p.
Lovely pictures. I am trying to guess where they are taken, but you have too much eye for detail so I get lost. Hmm there goes my illusion that I know Bruges very well. I do guess the bikes were at the train station though.
It looks as if you had a lot of rain though. If you would have come to Leuven it would have been very sunny weather. (Ok ok, that's a lie, it rained in Leuven as well on Saturday.)
You are getting me all excited for my 48 hours in NYC with a girlfriend. To see the Yaz concert. Did you know I was going to see Yaz in NYC next Thursday?
The story begins like this: A couple of years ago my husband got a crazy notion in his head that returning to school after years in the professional world might be a good idea. So he and I along with our three children left our suburban life in the U.S. and traded it for a new adventure in The Netherlands.
The saga continues like this:
A year of post graduate study was so much fun, we figured we'd stay a while longer. Working in a new field, attending new schools and living in a new city, I dare say we have settled into a rhythm in our expat lives.
This blog is the record I keep of our experiences here; good, bad and hilarious. Intended as an outlet for my expression, this is the place for me to say my something.
looks great! and not at all like that movie - something about being in Brugge. Colin Ferrell... looks like you had a lovely time.
ReplyDeleteWe actually watched that movie In Bruges while in Bruges! We felt it was fitting...

Nice shots! I love the bikes!
ReplyDeleteI also really like the windy dark road. Very Kafkaesque.
And I love the statue on the bottom. I love the expectant poise.
I loved the windy cobblestone street. Somehow it seemed to mirror my emotional state. I hope the weekend was fun for everybody!
ReplyDeleteI really love the new color scheme and banner. Great for summer! (If it has been up for a while, don't kill me. I've been awful!)
ReplyDeleteI love Brugge... I hope I can visit it again some day.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots as always. I snapped off a big firework for you :)
ReplyDeleteLov-i-ly! I just love the images.
