For Jessica

And now, a few words.

I am back at the ANNEX today with a post first published here in May 2007. It seems very fitting that this, of all my submissions, should be picked now. As melancholy seems to be the watchword of my life lately and saying goodbye to special someones appears to be the theme. Please if you have a minute, stop by to read this post about my grandpa.

  6. Such a great shot! I love the look of the weathered walkway. Great contrast with all the greenery on either side.

Thanks for the visit over at my spot today, Happy Wednesday :)

  11. You true photographers amaze me! I snap a few pictures, but I don't take photographs. Beautiful -- the imagination so wants to walk down that path! Thank you. PLB

  12. I like the thought of just out of sight. I've lost quite a few I've loved and have to keep that in mind. They're just out of sight for the moment. We will meet again.

  17. Excellent photo and tribute to your Grandpa.

It's allmost unbelieve how fast technology has changed.
When my Grandma died in July 1964, I did not know about until one week after her funeral. Got the letter on a Norwegian Consulate.
No Cellphones, No Internet, No fax, Poste Restante was available but hard to use and predict.
