You are right. The big celebration comes on the night of the 5th but as soon as Sinterklaas arrives in town, children can leave their shoes out to be filled anytime (and all the time).
Andrew got a special delivery today when Sint stopped by and left a package on our front door for him. Lucky kid.

  6. How sweet! That is so cute.

I always thought that St. Nick came just for me, because my birthday is Dec. 5. :-)

  7. really, can they put out their shoe all the time from now on? That is totally new to me.

I've never had a single present before Dec 6th in the morning!

    Lucky boy.

I am pretty sure it IS all about you. Don't let yourself be talked out of that idea!

Yes, can you believe it? After the Sint arrives it's legal to put your shoes out EVERY night until the 5th. That doesn't happen in this house, but we do like to sneak in a few shoe-by-the-fireplace-nights between the middle of November and the 5th of December!
