My Country 'Tis of Thee
First message in my inbox this morning:
Subject: It's safe to come back now
Message:
Just say it out loud, "President Obama".
From my own phone, text to my boss:
"Running l8 this a.m. b-cuz of happy dancing ovr election!"
From Andrew's mouth:
"We got a new president? Oh! I like Bokobama!!"
I'm amazed at the reaction around the world to Obama's election. I have great hopes that from him America might have the first reasonable foreign policy in decades.
ReplyDelete"it's safe to come back now"....hahahahaaa true. But please stay here with us in Europe!
ReplyDeleteGlad you have reason to party!
Oh my goodness. I'm pinching myself over and over.
ReplyDeleteI have to find some tables to dance on - I have to admit, I was too exhausted last night, even as over the moon as I was.
J - I am posting a Wordless Wednesday, only to discover that you came to the party early.
ReplyDeleteSo, does this mean you'll come home now? I still need that hug!
Ken
It will be a long, uphill climb, but I have hope. I have hope that things will improve and differences will be bridged.
ReplyDeleteLittle lady is working VERY hard to say our new President's name correctly. "Oback Osama" just doesn't quite cut it.
ReplyDeleteAll my friends and colleagues are beside ourselves. I keep thinking of Jaberwocky
oh frabjous day,

Hee. :)
ReplyDeleteI believe!!!! It is our time!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn,
ReplyDeleteJeremy, the girls and I went to the Barack Obama Rally in Denver a couple of weeks ago. There was way over 100,000 people there supporting him. It was incredible to be there and then have Colorado go from red to blue in the election. What an inspiring moment for our country. The two big girls had just settled into sleep Tuesday night when they called it. I went running up the stairs yelling,"He won!!!He won!!!!" The girls were so thrilled. It is funny to see the children so into this historical event. I hope you are well, so sorry to hear about your friend. Very sad.
Take care,
Jody
