  3. Oh, I SO agree! I can't eat grapefruit anymore, though, which was my favorite, but clementines sure make up for it!

  7. jen-
That's a shame about you and grapefruit. That is definitely one of my favorites.

    jenn-
Grieving over the loss of citrus is completely understandable.

I don't know, even in Arizona I got really excited come citrus season. Especially since that meant I could harvest fruit from my own backyard!

    Welcome to the game!

    fc-
Currently scurvy free around here. That's a good thing.

  9. I can remember as a kid that my folks sent away for fresh Florida oranges and grapefruit for Christmas. It was the MOST delicious treat in the world to have fresh, tree ripened fruit in the middle of winter! Grapefruit are a world apart when ripened naturally, rather than picked green and sent to the store LOL.

    Yummy word choice!

  15. We just picked the last half dozen mandarins from the two trees in our front yard. A sad moment, indeed. We do have about twenty grapefruit left on the trees in the back yard, but after my little accident last year I'm sending the kids out to pick those.

And the VERY BEST thing about winter is that it ends!
