  1. Living in the middle of practically-prairie, all I can say is: I know what you mean. My sympathies.

  2. I absolutely don't envy you in that!

  3. It reminds me of Nebraska: there is nothing to block the wind and it rolls, uninterrupted, for hundreds of miles and cuts right through you. I'm still trying to figure out why it rains so much. Someone was trying to convince me that the hills at the German border cause the clouds to drop rain "just like any other mountain range".
    'only by Dutch standards... :)

  4. Below sea level, northern Europe, nothing to block the wind.

Yeah, may the wind be always at your back. NEVER at your front when you are trying to cycle.

  10. There are times at night when I wake up in the dark and want to run for the cellar! Then I remember that we are not in Texas and this is not a tornado, just a bad batch of Holland weather.

Sometimes, however, I still want to run for the cellar.

Too bad I don't have one. And if I did, it would be underwater. (sigh)

    Now I'm really homesick...

  15. Eeek!! You changed your look! I thought I had gotten lost!! It will take some getting used to, but I think I like it. Except that it reminds me of the wind. And that I don't like...
