nope, this is not me. Just a random customer. I do have a shot of her, but not one of her and the sketch in the same frame. I thought this was the stronger of the shots. I think his talent, quite remarkable.
Excellent photo and excellent choice Jenn! Makes me want to find someone who does that near me. Thanks for visiting me and I hope you have a fantastic week ahead.
OH, that artist has talent! Thanks for your "real" thoughts on the artistic nature of my post. I enjoyed it! After this weekend, I may make a post with the real answer, but for now I'm enjoying reading all the answers.
i love watching other artists.. and this shot really captures that. i love the composition of it... it's like you're really peering over his shoulder... in almost a voyeuristic way. but that creates a great dynamic to the shot!
and thanks for stopping by em.org. yes.. it has TONS of texture on that painting... i tried to aim the lights in such a way that you could see a bit of that in the picture.. but it really is something that looks better "in person" :-)
I have one of my granddaughter getting her portrait made in Paris, and I am so glad I thought to get a shot of her posing and the artist drawing her (especially since I had to give the portrait to her parents!)
This is a wonderful photo. I think it takes a lot of confidence to sit in front of an audience and draw like that! Are you, by any chance, the subject of this one?
Hi Jenn, Thanks for that beautiful photo. I did a lot of life drawing in the my younger, childless days, and seeng that brought it all back (I was no where near that good though).
I missed getting to everyone's last week. . . looks like you had plenty of visitors anyway. I like your street artist. I had a 4 year olds painting for my first entry on that topic.
The story begins like this: A couple of years ago my husband got a crazy notion in his head that returning to school after years in the professional world might be a good idea. So he and I along with our three children left our suburban life in the U.S. and traded it for a new adventure in The Netherlands.
The saga continues like this:
A year of post graduate study was so much fun, we figured we'd stay a while longer. Working in a new field, attending new schools and living in a new city, I dare say we have settled into a rhythm in our expat lives.
This blog is the record I keep of our experiences here; good, bad and hilarious. Intended as an outlet for my expression, this is the place for me to say my something.
I love street artists! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteINCREDIBLE!!!! Those eyes look like they are looking right off the paper!
ReplyDeleteWow- the facial features look so realistic.
ReplyDeleteAh Italia!
That's very cool...an artist is usually so busy making art, the artist never gets to be the subject of somebody else's art. Neat-o!
